Hey everyone! This is my first Fanfiction on Escaflowne! =) I'm so happy. I just want to say that I do not own the characters from the show, but I do own the characters that the original's meet. You'll understand when you read.

The Vision of Escaflowne ~ The Dracoinian Sphere

(Hitomi is back on earth and she is wearing her track team uniform and she is sitting beside her duffel bag on the benches near the track at Kamakura-Kita High School. thinking quietly to herself)

Hitomi rested her head in her hands. She stared straight ahead, blocking everything out. {two whole years} thought Hitomi {Oh why did I leave Van, why? It's silly thinking about this right now. It's been two years, why haven't I forgotten about him.} Hitomi turned her head and gazed at her duffel bag. Slowly she grabbed for it and pulled out a beautiful white feather. Tears started to fill Hitomi's eyes as visions of Van and other friends flashed into her mind, from Gaea.

"Oh Van!...." cried Hitomi.

"Hitomi? Are you alright?"

Hitomi lifted her head to see Amano and Yukari staring down at her with concern on their faces. Quickly Hitomi put the feather behind her back and cracked a little smile to her friends.

"Ya I'm fine!" said Hitomi " I was just thinking about my grandmother!"

Hitomi knew they wouldn't believe her, they must of seen the feather that she was clenching on to. {What would I say if they ask me about the feather, that I got it from an angel. They would defiantly think that I was nuts for sure, and have me put away.} Hitomi thought. Lowering her gaze to the ground. As Hitomi raised her eyes to meet her friends she noticed that they were just smiling at her. {What are they up too?} thought Hitomi.

"So. Five more days till your 17th birthday Hitomi!" chirped Yukari "What should we do?" Yukari raised her index finger to her chin and stared at the sky.

"Oh come on Yukari. I know your planning something. So you might as well spill the beans." said Hitomi, as she secretly put the feather back into her bag, and then put her hands on her hips.

"What ME!!!! Well I never." giggled Yukari. as she crossed her arms. "But honestly do you have anything planned?"

Hitomi's smile faded away and she stared at the ground once again. {I just want to see Van again, that's all.} Hitomi's check's started to flush. {Why would I think such a thing! My birthday is coming, and all I can think about is Van. Man do I need help.}

"Hitomi......Hitomi..........earth to Hitomi......."

"Huh?" Hitomi's eye's widened and she stared back at her friends and her face went bright red. "Oh sorry there. I'm not myself today." stammered Hitomi.

"Are you sure your okay Hitomi." said Amano as he leaned in closer to Hitomi. "I'm worried about you. You haven't been the same, lately. Is something wrong?."

Amano stared into Hitomi's eyes. {It's like he's looking into my soul} thought Hitomi. Then she noticed Yukari's expression of discomfort behind Amano. Hitomi knew that Yukari liked Amano, more then just a friend. So she decided to make a quick get away.

"Ya I'm fine. But I got to go, I'm next for the 100 m dash." Hitomi said as she stood up. "Well I guess I'll see you later tonight Yukari, after my track meet!" yelled Hitomi as she ran off to the end of the track.

"Oh okay. See ya later Hitomi!" yelled Yukari.

"LORD V...A...N!!!! OH LORD VAN!!!" yelled Merle, as she jumped from balcony to balcony. Of Fanelia's castle. "Oh where could he be!"

Merle's tail stood on end as she got more frustrated. She leaped up to the roof tops and then noticed Van. Sitting on the far side of the roof. {YES he's alone. Well he's been alone since that weird girl from the mystic moon, finally left} chuckled Merle as she did a little jolly dance of victory on the roof. {Score!!!!}.

"OH LORD V...A...N!!!!" yelled Merle in an excited voice. But Van didn't even look in her direction. {Ohhhhhhhhhhh. Why isn't he looking. He's probably thinking of HER again} "MEOWR!!! HIIIISSSssss!" Merle's fur stood on end as the thought of Hitomi came into her mind. On all four's Merle ran up to Van. "Hey LORD VAN! Who are you thinking about!?" said Merle in an angry voice.

"Oh Merle? I didn't hear you?" said Van as he turned his gaze to Merle.

{Didn't hear me!!!! He was probably thinking about her again!!! Ohhhh that's gratitude for you.} thought Merle as her ears pinned back and her tail stood on end.

"Oh Merle." said Van as a smile spread across his face.

Van turned his gaze back to the mystic moon. Merle finally realizing that she couldn't get Van's attention, went off to the kitchen to get something to eat, leaving Van to be alone. {Hitomi........ I wonder how she's doing?} thought Van as he reached down and grabbed the pendent that was around his neck. {Someday I will see you again. .......... I promise} and he slowly closed his eyes, as a breeze of cool air washed across his face.

Next Day

It was mid after noon and Van was sitting in his studies, as Voris (his adviser) walked into the room. Van raised his head, and motioned for Voris to come in the rest of the way.

"Your Majesty. Allen and Millerna Schezar have arrived and are waiting for you in the Library." said Voris as he motioned his hands towards the door.

"Thank-you Voris, I will to see to them shortly." said Van as he started to tidy up his desk.

After a short while, Van headed out of the studies and started to walk down the long hallway, heading towards the library. {Allen and Millerna ...... Man it's been a year since I seen them. I still can't believe that they got married and Dryden didn't do a thing to stop it. Hmmmmm maybe later Allen and I could do some sparing, to catch up on old times.} a smile spread across Van's face as the thought of sparing with his old friend came into mind. {It will be like old times.} thought Van. As Van made his way down to the library, Merle was sneaking up behind him wondering why he was going to the library. As Van reached the big wooden door and slid them open Merle poked her head over his shoulder.

"ALLEN! MERLLERNA!!" yelled Van in a happy tone. As he stood in the doorway.

{Allen? Millerna? hear!} thought Merle as she struggled for a better look, behind Van's back. {huh??? ohhh!!!!}"ALLEN!!!! MILLERNA!!!" shrieked Merle as she leaped over Van's back.

Van nearly freaked out, as a loud shriek came from right behind his ears, and nearly toppled to the ground as Merle lounged over him. Merle ranned up to Millerna, and started to tell her how beautiful she looked. Allen just looked over to Van and had to laugh. At the reaction that just occurred.

"Merle......." groaned Van.

"Ha hahahahaha, Ahhhh don't worry about it Van. Where fine." snickered Allen, as he noticed claw marks on Van's shoulders, that were from Merle.

"So how you've been?" asked Allen as he looked at Van.

"We can talk about it at lunch. What do you say?" asked Van as he rubbed his shoulders.

Merle's ear's twitched to attention, from the word food. "Hmmmm food? YAH! Let's eat, and we can catch up on soooo many things." said Merle as she grabbed Millerna's arm, and started to drag her to the dining room.

"Ahhh Merle!" said a startled Millerna, as she was pulled out the doors.

Hitomi, Amano and Yukari were sitting in the cafeteria, eating their lunch. The cafeteria was packed full of high school students. Hitomi sat at the table listening to Yukari's story, of what happened in her Family Studies class. Then Hitomi's eyes widened and her mouth dropped open as a vision of a dragon, came before her eyes. Her friend's didn't even notice, as Hitomi's hand began to shake. {That's the same dragon when I first saw Van!} thought Hitomi. The dragon glared at Hitomi and it's mouthed gaped open. {Huh what's that?} stammered Hitomi as a black figure appeared behind the dragon.

" ......... F... Falcon?!"

bbbrrrriiinnngggg!!!!!!!!! BBBRRRRIIIINNNGGG!!!!!!!! ((warning bell))

Hitomi's eyes blinked, and she noticed that she was back in the cafeteria with her friends. Some of the students were leaving to go too there next class. Yukari turned her gaze towards Hitomi and noticed that she looked pale looking. Yukari started to stand up as Amano did, and turned around to face Hitomi.

"Hey Hitomi, don't you have a class?" asked Yukari.

Hitomi finally snapped to reality, and looked at Yukari. "No I have a spare now. I think I'll go out to the track before my next class." smiled Hitomi.

"Well I'll see you later then. Maybe we can plan on what to do for your birthday later on then? Well bye Hitomi!" said Yukari.

"Bye Hitomi." said Amano, he waved his hand as he followed Yukari out of the cafeteria.

{He looks so much like Allen} thought Hitomi. {I wonder how they are doing back on Gaea. I wish I could see them again.}

Later that day Hitomi was running the track. Sweat dripped from her forehead, and her

T-shirt was soaked around the neck. She had been running all day with short pauses in between, she didn't even realized how late it was getting, for the school had closed down for the day a hour ago. {It feels like I'm running away from something ........ My destiny? Nah that can't be it, why would I run away from destiny.} Hitomi skidded to a stop at the finish line to catch her breath. She bent over and rested her hands on her legs, and slumped her head down. {Destiny? I wonder what MY destiny is?} Hitomi thought as she stood straight up and stared at the sky. The sky was turning a bright orange.

"What!!! It's that LATE!!!" yelled Hitomi, as she finally realized how late it was getting.

Hitomi started to jog over to the benches where she had put her duffel bag. As she bent over to pick up the duffel bag, the vision of the dragon and the mysterious figure came to her again. The black figure stood beside the dragon this time, and everything was still. Then she noticed the pendent that she had given to Van, appear and it started to swing back and forth. Keeping in perfect rhythm. Then a white feather floated down from the sky, Hitomi raised out her hand and the feather landed in her palm. Then a loud roar was heard. Hitomi raised her head to see the dragon, running towards her.

"V....A....N..!!!!"

Van's head jolted up. Something was wrong, but he didn't know what it was.

"Hey mmmm lord Van. (smack smack). What's wrong?" asked Merle as she stuffed a round pastry into her mouth, and looked up at Van.

"Huh? Oh it's nothing. I just thought I heard ....." Van trailed off.

Merle stared at Van in confusion. "Heard something (gulp). I didn't hear anything, and I have the best hearing out of all of you." said Merle as she twitched her ears.

Van looked around the table and finally realized that no one else heard what he heard. {It sounded like Hitomi} thought Van as he lowered his head. {She sounded like she was in trouble.} Merle looked at Van, and noticed his sad expression, as he eat. {Maybe he did hear something? ......... As if!} thought Merle, as she chuckled at the thought. For what she can't hear no one can she thought, and then she went back to her food.

Hitomi took a step backwards and shaked her head back and forth. She looked up again, nothing. Just the track and the far off woods. Hitomi sighed with relief and turned around and picked up her duffel bag. {Just another vision. But what does it mean?} thought Hitomi as she started to walk towards the gate. But then stopped as an eerie breeze came from behind her. Hitomi turned around, and looked down the track. Then from the corner of her eye she noticed a strange black vortex appearing. She staggered backwards as the vortex got bigger and bigger to reveal a tropical forest. The sky suddenly turned a dark red like blood. {No} Hitomi gasped as she noticed two red eyes in the darkness of the woods. Then out of the darkness a massive dragon stomped forward, it swayed it's head back and forth, and then its fiery eyes locked on to Hitomi's. The dragon stared Hitomi down, saliva oozed out of it's gaping mouth. Hitomi staggered backwards but tripped and she fell to the ground. The dragon startled by this sudden movement started to run towards Hitomi. Hitomi staggered to her feet and started to run, the dragon was right behind her, she could feel the intense heat of it's breath coming from it's snapping jaws. She looked over her shoulder to see the dragon gaining on her, but when she brought her gaze to the front she noticed a hurdle lying on the ground.

"AHHhhhhhhh!! Oufffffff!"

Hitomi went flying to the ground, and rolled a fare distance on the track. The dragon jumped into the air and landed infront of her. Hitomi got to her knees, but the dragon wrapped it's tail around her waist and then hurled her into the air. She landed just a few distance away from the vortex. Hitomi lifted her head off the ground, and turned her gaze towards the dragon which was coming towards her. But then it stopped where it was, it seemed to look behind Hitomi. Slowly she turned her head towards the vortex and noticed a black figure standing a few feet away from her, with it's hand up in the air. Like it was ordering the dragon to stop.

"F .... Falcon?" stammered Hitomi.

The figure shifted it's weight and it started to move towards Hitomi, that was now lying on the center field grass. Hitomi felt tired for some strange reason. Like some one cast a spell on her.

"Ohhhhhh! My head" visions of Van and her friends flashed into her mind.

"Van...... help....m....e....." Hitomi collapsed on the ground.

(Van and Allen where in the garden practicing their sparing.)

"Ahhh I see your getting better in your old age Allen!" snickered Van.

Allen smirked at the little joke. "Well you don't seem that bad either. For a kid!" said Allen as he blocked Van's attack.

They both leaped backwards and were know staring each other down. After a minute passed, Van couldn't take the suspense anymore.

"Ahhhhhh!!!!" Van lounged forward, with all his might.

But Allen suspecting this dodged out of the way and rolled to the side. "Your too predictable!" stated Allen. "You act too soon."

"Ha! If I waited for you! It would of been the next millennium!" laughed Van.

Merle sat on the verandah watching the whole seen. "Boring!!!!" she whined as she started to rock back and forth. Then Merle jumped with a start as Allen almost got Van. "LORD VAN WATCH OUT!!!" yelled Merle excitedly. "GO!... GO!... LORD VAN!... YOU GOT HIM KNOW!" Merle was jumping up and down and was making swinging motions with her arms, like she had a sword.

"Well it looks like you have a cheering section." snickered Allen.

"Well at least I have one." commented Van.

Then Van noticed a opening and he lounged forward.

For the first time while sparing with Allen, Van managed to get Allen's sword out of his hands. Allen was dumbfounded at this result, but then gathered his composure and bowed at Van. Van smiled for he knew that Allen was going easy on him.

"Van ..... help ... m...e!"

Van's eyes widened and looked back and forth. "Hitomi?...."

Allen looked at Van, questionably. "Van?"

"Yaaayyyy! Lord Van Won!!" yelled Merle as she jumped off the verandah and started to run toward Van.

As Merle reached Allen's side, the pendent around Van's neck started to glow.

"Lord Van! What's going on?!" stammered Merle as a bright pillar of light engulfed all three of them, and then they were teleported into the sky.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!......................................."

All three of them stood there with there eyes covered by there hands. Finally Van lowered his hands, to see Merle wrapped around Allen's left leg. Allen didn't look to pleased for Merle was digging her nails into his leg.

"MERLE LET GO!" yelled Allen, as he shooked his leg that she was on.

Merle finally opened her eyes, and looked around. "Hey where are we?" said Merle as she left Allen's side. "Strange ground? ........ Weird colors too!" Merle poked the hard paved ground. {Hmmmm? Strange .... Weird ..... Sounds like Hitomi!} thought Merle as she scratched the surface of the ground.

Merle looked over to Van and Allen who just looked as dumbfounded as she was. Van was scratching his head and he muffled something about the Mystic Moon, and Allen was tending to the wounds on his leg.

"The Mystic Moon? ....." whispered Van to himself.

"The Mystic Moon!!!!" shrieked Merle. "Were on the Mystic Moon!!"

Allen raised his head and looked over at Merle who was sitting on the ground grumbling about something on how Hitomi was from the Mystic Moon and how she must of been the one who done this.

"The Mystic Moon? Are you sure that's where we are?" asked Allen, as he shifted his gaze towards Van.

Van nodded his head. "Yes this is the place where I first met Hitomi."

"V.....VVVV...VAN!!!" stammered Merle.

Van and Allen looked over at Merle who was now standing and pointing at something that was right behind them. Van and Allen turned around to see a dragon disappearing into a tropical forest, and then Van noticed the black figure that was standing near the vortex, and it was holding Hitomi. {Falcon?} thought Van. {But it can't be! He died killing Doinkirk!}

"Hey isn't that Hitomi?!" yelled Allen, as he reached for his sword.

Merle's tail stood on end. {I knew SHE had something to do with this} thought Merle. The black figure stared at them, it's eye's went a gleaming red. Then it turned around and started walking towards the vortex with Hitomi. {I knew something was wrong} screamed Van in his mind. Van reached down to his side and withdrew his sword, and he started to run towards the black figure.

"HITOMI!!!!!!!"

So whatcha think? It's getter better later on. And I know that there are a couple of mistakes. Like their still in high school, and Yukari hasn't revealed her true feelings too Amano yet. Oops my mistake! Well gotta go bye. (blows a kiss to the monitor)
